Misty has worked in the legal profession for over two decades starting out as a librarian at her father's law firm in high school and currently over a decade as the lead paralegal at the Martinez de Vara Law Firm, PLLC, which handles complex litigation throughout the state of Texas from trial through appeal.  While working in the legal profession, Misty has worked with District Clerks across Texas, New Mexico and several Appellate Clerks and Federal District Clerks across the state of Texas. Prior to her career as lead paralegal, Misty graduated from Texas Tech University with a B.B.A. in Accounting and worked as an accountant at Clear Channel Communications and Pioneer Drilling located in San Antonio.

With Misty's accounting background as well as her experience working first hand with district clerks all over the state, including appellate clerks and federal clerks, has afforded her a unique perspective to experience all the different technology and systems implemented in various courts which gives her a clear vision to improve the District Clerk's office in Bexar County.

Misty is a member of the State Bar of Texas - Paralegal Division, National Association of Legal Assistants and American Alliance of Paralegals.

Misty attended Churchill High School and Christian School of Castle Hills and graduated from Texas Tech University with BBA in Accounting.

Misty is married to Adrian A. Spears, II and mother of three daughters.

Misty is a member of and regularly attends Community Bible Church.
